Hi,

I am looking for an 81-86 Datsun/Nissan 720 diesel pickup for sale relatively close to my area. I live in Glenville, Pennsylvania and I am willing to travel 3 or 4 states away to buy one. Note, I am not interested in a truck from Canada. If you have one for sale, just reply back or email me. Even if you have seen one in a local junkyard I would be interested too. Thanks.

GRIMM01, thanks for the reply and I appreciate your help. Are you sure at least one of the 81's can't be salvaged? I would be interested in the 81 longbed for my choice. Since you have an SD25 diesel that you said was out of an 84 pickup would you have the whole truck or just the engine and transmission? If the 84 is a whole complete truck would you be interesed in selling it? How many miles is on the SD25 and do you have three transmissions since you have three diesel engines? Where are you located? If you're not far I can come to buy a truck or engine at a later time. Thanks again for your reply.

hi, sorry to budge in

i was brousing and came across this thread. i am looking for a desil engine for my for my 93 ford ranger... the gas engine has about 210k and still mostly strong... she is in need of some major work (new timing belt, new front and rear seals plus some other minor stuff) and thought this might be a good time to replace the engin befor it fails and does some damage to a rebuildable block. just wondering if your engine would work for this... i travel alot between washington and california and want something strong and reliable.

GRIMM01, do you have the radiator, motor mounts, and instrument panel/gauges from the 84 diesel truck? I want to ask you an important question about the transmissions too. Does the SD22 and SD25 use the same transmission? I have heard of possible differences, but wasn't exactly sure. I'm very interested in buying your SD25 engine and transmission, but I'm not well off on money and would be coming from Glenville, Pennsylvania to come pick it up. Should be a trip and the money on fuel would be somewhat costly. The SD25 doesn't have real low miles and could you reconsider a lower price for me? If you will sell the engine and trans for less than I'll be quick as to give you a deposit and come pick it up faster. If you are willing to make a deal with me just reply back and we'll decide on what to do. Thanks.

Jeff, I have still not forgot about you and am interested in buying the SD25 engine with transmission. I might have bought the package from you sooner if you lived closer or more importantly if I had a truck to put it in. What I want to do is drop the diesel and 5-speed trans into an 83-86 (later model) Nissan 720 cab and chassis model truck with dual rear wheels. Nissan had a cab and chassis model 720 pickup that came factory with a dually rear end. I am having trouble finding one of these trucks for the project. Would you know of any of these trucks in junkyards or for sale in OH, PA, or MD? Once I get the Nissan truck I'm going to need the drivetrain next. If you know of any dually 720s please let me know. Thanks.
